State Qualifying- Dressage

Summit County 4H Members: The Ohio State Fair dressage show is open to riders Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. Summit County is offering a Dressage Show on June 2, 2018. To receive a Summit County State Representative Belt Buckle, riders MUST ride at the Summit County Show. Summit County riders may qualify at any show, but will not receive a belt buckle and/or sign if they do not enter the Summit County show.

Classical (English) and Western Dressage are both offered at the Ohio State Fair in 2018. A rider may only ride in two classes total at the State Dressage Show.

Qualifying season starts Jan 1 of the current year. More info can be found here

A rider qualifies for state in dressage by receiving two scores of 60% or higher at a dressage show with an L graduate (or higher) or other licensed official listed on the state judges' list. NOTE: L graduates do not have to be listed on the state judges' list; being recognized as able to judge shows by USDF counts toward judging 4H shows.

Contact Lynn Hamler 740-694-5150 for more information about the State 4H Dressage Show.

Contact Sara Justice 908-240-6949 for more information about the Summit County 4H Dressage Program, State Qualifying Rules, and Summit County Fair Dressage Show.

Remember that many dressage shows have closing dates that can be up to ONE MONTH before the date of the show. This means you need to have your entry form to the show secretary before the closing date. Always check with the show management to see if the show entries are opened or closed before going to a dressage show.
